The Company
Overbury specialises in the fit-out and refurbishment of offices with a particular emphasis on occupied commercial premises. The company has offi ces in London, Bracknell and Manchester, working as a main contractor for a variety of clients in the private and public sectors. Overbury is part of Morgan Sindall Plc, a FTSE250 construction company with a turnover in excess of £2 billion.
The Brief
The key objective was to build a sharp, stylish and user-friendly intranet that captured the main elements of the Overbury brand. As well as enabling a degree of open communication, it also needed to: present company information; showcase some of Overbury’s key projects; and demonstrate the company’s
capabilities. The brief called for a strong visual design, emphasizing Overbury’s ‘Passion for Perfection’ and avoiding a cold corporate feel.
Target Audience
The audience includes a wide range of professionals working in offi ces and out on site. Those on site often need to access the intranet remotely, with limited resources, while working to stringent project deadlines. This means sensible navigation is absolutely vital, as is clear information, fast downloads and rapid access (with as few clicks as possible) to the data they need.
